Keeping it real and KEEPING IT LOCAL. Hopefully you have noticed or better yet, felt the energy that is happening in Bham. It is more than the tangible things; the cranes downtown, construction everywhere you look, Publix moving in etc., it is a true feeling. Yes, you can actually feel it. Get off your ass and walk around downtown and let me know if you feel it or not. If not, see your doctor/psychiatrist immediately, because my friends, there is a movement going on in the ‘Ham.
Bham is transitioning from a city once dominated by a few large corporations to a city that is spawning and reliant upon small businesses. These small businesses are led by the dreamers, risk takers, “rule breakers and earth shakers” (iambham.org). These entrepreneurs, their companies/investors are putting their money where their mouth is. They are making investments back into the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Bham and I challenge each of you to do the same. We all have a social responsibility to make this city great. If you do business in this community you have a responsibility to make it better, period! Help create jobs, use local small businesses when possible, buy local, shop local, hire local, invest local, speak local, create local, spend local.
One thing that we are extremely proud of at Fetch is we have done just that. We have built a national brand with a lot of local love. Every penny in building our hiring platform has been invested back into our local community. Every damn penny and that is no joke. From software development to the models on the our site, all local. We believe this is a responsibility that we all share. SO, we challenge each of you to keep it real and keep it local!
